
Mr.Allen is the fellow standing up in back with the red tie.
This was for A employee who had been at the hotel when they first opened the doors on the hotel 35 years
ago. Not many owners would have took the time to come all the way from Little Rock for this but he did , this
should tell you A lot about him and how the employees at the line level fill about Mr. Allen.
When it comes to the hotel business he gives you the money to keep the property up and stresses customer
satisfaction . I'm not saying he does not count the bean but is real rounded when it comes to his position.
Needlessly to say it was not going to be A good day in the staff meeting come P @ L time if you had overtime
know matter who the G.M. was. His way of thinking was if you are doing the best you can managing then put
more people on the payroll because customer service was being effected.
I never had A problem with overtime myself, in the last 5 years I probably had 35 hours overtime and in 15
years maybe 150.
I think part of this was due to my personal people management thoughts that always took into consideration
the employees needs both professional and on the home front. This helped me to keep the sane employees
around year after year. R.L.
